The Silver Spring Mineral Water Co. Ltd., Foord Road (previously Grace Hill), Folkestone

This company was founded in 1888 for the manufacture of carbonated soft drinks.  It merged with another local firm, Harris & Co. of Hythe in 1946, remaining in business until 2009, when it went into administration.  The assets were acquired by a new company that traded under the name Silver Spring Soft Drinks until it too went into liquidation in December 2012.

Wraith & Wood, Portland Place, Dover Road, Folkestone

Wraith & Wood was one of a series of businesses operated by the Wraith family of Dover. This Excelsior Works was opened in 1902 and became the Excelsior Mineral Water Company in 1907.  On the evidence of this bottle it retained the name Wraith & Wood until at least 1915.

Daniel Jones, 105-107 Dover Street, Folkestone and 1-2 Elizabeth Street, Dover

This company, originally M. Jones & Son, manufactured mineral waters in Folkestone until 1907 from premises first opened in 1878.  The manufacture of mineral waters at Elizabeth Street, Dover, under Daniel Jones commenced in 1887 and continued until 1907.  A feature of their bottles is that they are dated and have the company trade mark printed on the back.
